Head Coach - Ian Gac
​

bio:
Ian Gac is a former professional baseball player and the founder and head instructor of ExploSwing LLC. He was born and raised in Seattle, WA and grew up in and around the area. He attended Edmonds-Woodway High School where he excelled both in the class room and on the baseball field. After high school Ian planned on attending the University of Northern Iowa where he received a scholarship to play baseball. However he passed on college and began his professional playing career after being drafted by the Texas Rangers just before the end of his senior year of high school.
Currently Ian resides in Bellevue, WA where he lives with his wife Priya, son Devan and daughter Maya.
Playing Career:
Ian played 3 years of Varsity baseball at EWHS. In his senior year Ian set the school's single season home run record with 10 in 18 games, which still stands today. In 2003 after his senior year, Ian realized his lifelong dream of playing professional baseball when he was drafted by the Texas Rangers. He went on to play 13 seasons of professional baseball from 2003-2015 accumulating several awards and honors, such as 7 all star team selections and winning the Carolina League's MVP award in 2011.

Coaching career:
Ian has been coaching young players ever since 2007 when he began giving private and semi private hitting lessons while home in the off seasons from playing. Ian transitioned into a full time hitting instructor at the conclusion of his playing career in 2015 with the formation of ExploSwing LLC. He has also run several hitting and infield camps throughout the years and has run off season hitting programs for several area select and little league baseball programs. In 2016 and 2017 Ian was the head coach for Bellevue Baseball Club's 13 and 14u select teams. He has also coached ExploSwing NW in the AZ Fall Classic in the fall of 2017.

Ian's primary role is field manager and working with hitters, infielders, catchers and managing our pitching program.

Assistant Coach - Nelson Taylor
​

bio:
Nelson was born and raised in Seattle. He played varsity baseball for four years, and was a two-year football varsity starter for Seattle Prep HS. In the 2012 season, he helped the baseball team to an 18-0 regular season record, and were ranked first in the state for five straight weeks. Taylor earned All Metro Honorable Mention honors in 2011, and 1st team All-Metro in 2012 and 2013. He was also voted as team MVP by his teammates in 2013. In that season the speedy outfielder had 15 stolen bases, a 12-game hit streak, .432 batting average, and 25 RBIs. After high school Nelson played Division 1 baseball at Seattle U. Unfortunately injuries plagued him and his career was cut short after his sophomore year. He continued as a grad assistant coach for the Redhawks his junior and senior years and currently sits on the SU baseball board. Nelson also spent the 2018 season as the assistant coach for the Seattle Rainiers 18u select team. He is also the current Varsity assistant coach at Seattle Prep HS.
