About Ian Gac

Bio:

Ian Gac is a former professional baseball player and the founder and head instructor of ExploSwing. He was born and raised in Seattle, WA and grew up in and around the area. He attended Edmonds-Woodway High School where he excelled at baseball and earned various awards for his performance on the field. After high school Ian planned on attending the University of Northern Iowa where he received a scholarship to play baseball. However he passed on college after being drafted by the Texas Rangers just before the end of his senior year of high school.

 

Currently Ian resides in Bellevue, WA where he lives with his wife Priya, son Devan and 2 daughters, Maya and Arya.

 

 

 

Playing Career:

Ian played 3 years of Varsity baseball at EWHS. In his senior year Ian set the school's single season home run record with 10 in 18 games, which still stands today.  In 2003 after his senior year, Ian realized his lifelong dream of playing professional baseball when he was drafted by the Texas Rangers. He went on to play 13 seasons of professional baseball from 2003-2015.

 

He spent his first 7 seasons in the Ranger's organization before moving on to play 2 seasons in the White Sox system followed by a season in the Atlanta Braves system. After spring training in 2013 with the Kansas City Royals Ian was released. At this point he went on to play 3 seasons of independent professional baseball with the Lincoln Saltdogs, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, and the St. Paul Saints. Ian also spent part of the 2015 season playing for the Rojos del Aguilas de Veracruz in the Mexican Baseball League (their Major League). Over his 13 seasons of professional baseball Ian accumulated many accolades for his outstanding performance, centered around his ability to hit and hit for power.
